Streaming bundles are weird now.
Or at least they’re getting complicated again.
Peacock just dropped Starz onto its platform as the very first optional add-on. It’s a first for NBCUniversal’s streamer, and it’s happening right now. You can grab the full ad-free library—think Outlander and the Power universe—without ever leaving the Peacock app.
It costs $12 a month.
No discounts. No bundle hacks. Just the standard Starz rate sitting inside your existing Peacock account.
Why Streamers Are Combining Services Like This
Why add a rival inside your own app?
It’s about friction. Or lack thereof. If you’re already paying Peacock, why open a second app? Why juggle two passwords? Comcast is spinning off NBCUniversal into a separate public business, so they need revenue. Making it easier to upsell subscribers fits the plan perfectly.
Peacock recently became an add-on itself on YouTube TV. Now they’re turning the table.
It’s not just a marketing gimmick. It’s a distribution experiment. Alison Hoffman, the president of Starz, didn’t mince words about it:
“We’re excited to partner with Peacock… Starz is built to be distributed in ways that enhances and expands the value of you own a broader platform.”
Translation? Starz plays nice. They want to be the premium garnish on your streaming sundae.
Who Qualifies and What Do You Get?
Don’t worry. You don’t need the top-tier Peacock Premium Plus to make this work.
Select, Premium, Premium Plus—it doesn’t matter which tier you’re on. You just tack the Starz subscription onto your current bill. One click. Done.
The content library is massive.
You get everything Peacock does: Love Island USA, Poker Face, Strung, and Spanish-language World Cup coverage via Telemundo. But add Starz?
The menu shifts.
P-Valley. The Housemaid. Sweetpea. And soon, Fightland and S.W.A.T.: Exiles. It’s the heavy hitter premium cable content that Peacock was missing.
Is this the next wave for streaming? Maybe.
Maybe not. But it’s certainly the most convenient way to watch premium drama if you already love the blue bird app. Just don’t expect a discount. $12 is $12.
